A Lithuanian e-money institution running SEPA Instant and open banking today, with card processing still on the way.
Read the product list carefully before you shortlist Genome, because one line changes the picture: card processing is announced as coming soon. Today this is an open banking and SEPA provider with a merchant account attached, not a full stack, and for a European operator whose players pay by bank that may be exactly right.
What it does offer is coherent. SEPA Instant and Credit Transfers in, instant payouts to your business account out, customisable hosted payment pages, merchant analytics and an API. The compliance list is longer than most here — PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR and DORA — and the Electronic Money Institution licence sits with the Bank of Lithuania, which is a regulator European operators deal with routinely.
There is also a quiet structural advantage. Instant bank payments are irrevocable, so a whole class of chargeback disputes never arises. That is worth more than a slightly better card rate to anyone whose chargeback ratio is close to a threshold.
The company publishes a Fee Information Document rather than hiding behind quotes, which is rare enough in this catalogue to be worth noting.
Commercial terms score 9.8, the best here, on published fees and instant settlement together. Compliance reaches 7.6 on the EMI licence and four compliance frameworks. Coverage is the weak point at 4.5 — Europe and SEPA only, with cards still pending, which is a genuinely narrow footprint rather than a reporting gap.
Five weighted criteria, 1–10. A criterion whose key field the provider does not publish is capped at 6.9 rather than scored on a guess. How we score →
Europe and the SEPA zone.
Open banking, SEPA Instant and Credit Transfers. Card processing is announced as coming soon.
PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR and DORA compliant.
A strong fit for a European operator running an open banking cashier, especially one fighting chargebacks. Wrong fit if cards carry your deposits today, at least until the card product ships. Ask when card processing actually launches and under which entity, because that answer decides whether this is a full provider or half of one.
Yes — an Electronic Money Institution licensed and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania, and compliant with PCI DSS, PSD2, GDPR and DORA.
Not yet. The site lists card processing as an additional method coming soon. What works today is Open Banking, SEPA Instant and SEPA Credit Transfers.
IBAN accounts in EUR, USD, GBP and nine further currencies — twelve in total — with a published fee document covering the charges on each.
