What we found

Few providers sell you the acquiring and also own the wallets a good share of your players already use. Skrill and Neteller sit inside the same group, and PaysafeCash covers the players who fund accounts with cash. For an operator whose deposit mix is genuinely mixed, that removes two or three separate integrations.

The licence detail is worth reading closely. Paysafe is authorised by the FCA under the Electronic Money Regulations rather than as a payment institution, and it is also regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. E-money authorisation carries different safeguarding obligations from a payment institution licence, and if your own regulator asks how player funds are held in transit, that distinction is the answer.

Scale is not in doubt — the company counts 200,000 businesses and 19 million consumers a year — and Interchange Plus is offered rather than blended pricing, which is unusually transparent for this size of provider. What is missing from the public site is anything on settlement timing, certifications or the founding story.

Our score

iGaming fit reaches 9.8: own licences, own wallets, a named gaming vertical and a client count it is willing to publish. Coverage follows at 8.5 on 48 currencies and twelve offices. Tech falls to 2.2, and that is a documentation gap rather than a product one — no public API reference, sandbox or SLA.

Five weighted criteria, 1–10. A criterion whose key field the provider does not publish is capped at 6.9 rather than scored on a guess. How we score →

The verdict

The obvious shortlist entry if wallets are a meaningful share of your deposits and you would rather hold one contract than four. Less obvious if you are small: this is enterprise sales, and enterprise sales means a minimum. Ask for the settlement schedule and the reserve terms early, because neither is published.

Paysafe: common questions

Is Paysafe licensed for gambling payments?

Yes. It is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 to issue electronic money and payment instruments, and separately regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. iGaming is one of its named industries rather than an exception it tolerates.

What payment methods does Paysafe support?

Cards, its own Skrill and Neteller wallets, PaysafeCash for cash payments, pay by bank, crypto and local methods, settling across 48 currencies.

How does Paysafe price?

An Interchange Plus programme is offered alongside other published models, which lets you see the scheme cost separately from the provider's margin. The specific rate is quoted per merchant.
